What is Astroshamanism?

If you are a recent reader of PAN you have probably become familiar with the theme of the planetary shift and the new six-year cycle (2007-2012), which have customarily been featured in the last preceding issues. You are also likely to have encountered terms such as HAC, non-HAC, CMI, bona fide horny bit and Provisional Order, which may require more time to fully gain acquaintance with, even if you are a long term reader. First of all, what I want to emphasize here is that all the details provided in PAN are merely provisional expressions aimed at stimulating your own visions and experiences. Hence what truly counts is not how far you can understand and absorb our dissertations. What primarily matters in PAN is your energetic and visionary response, what you get from this material, how you are guided into finding your own keys of access to the mysteries and superlatively how you are available to share them with other fellow travellers. This means that PAN, as well as the Astroshamanic Net [i] is fervently and for the most part looking forward to receiving and publishing any feedback, article, thought, feeling and insight you feel drawn to share. The first step in healing, as we see it in PAN, involves releasing the attachment to personal stories and allowing them to merge with the collective story, transmuting them in mythic epic narrations aimed at retrieving the original wholeness of our nature. Hence please feel extremely free to connect with us if you wish to share your experience with other fellow travellers.
Right in the apex of Carnival, I am currently running the Foundation Training in Astroshamanism, a two-week workshop with two modules: 17-24 February 2007, A Journey into the Inner Universe: and 24 February–3 March 2007, The Voyage through the Zodiac. This event is the longest astroshamanic programme during the year, with a dynamic and valuable content that changes on every edition. The two weeks function as a pioneering laboratory of research and direct experimentation, which always provide new insights and understanding. This year I would like to share this training more deeply with the astroshamanic network. Hence I have decided to record most of the sessions, which is also what I did in previous workshops. The difference this time is that I would like to produce a transcription of the recording, which can then circulate through the network. This is a task that can be manifested only if one or more friends volunteer to type the text of the recording. Please contact me at your earliest convenience if you can help in this respect.
After the above training I run an Experience Week from 10 to 17 March 2007, and then I move to Northern Italy for a spring field work and next to Jesi (Marche, Italy) to hold The Way of the East, a seminar devoted to the energy of Spring and the element Fire, from 31 March to 1 April 2007, assisted by Letizia Mocheggiani. This PAN is issued right in the middle of Carnival, which will culminate on 20 February 2007 with Martedì Grasso (Fat Tuesday). The roots of the Carnival are traced back to the celebrations in honour of the god Dionysus (see opening image), who is also one of the primary gods associated with Pisces.

Pisces: Within the mechanics of the current multidimensional shift, the time of Pisces is crucial for it represents the culmination of the gestation of any intent or process set in motion in the preceding months, as from the spring equinox in 2006. It is a very delicate period, in which new talents and gifts take solid shape and prepare for their outer emergence, yet in a context where we do not still totally manage to acknowledge and see what may actually emerge. This requires focus, care and alertness so as to embrace the opportunity of giving fruitful conscious birth to what truly aligns with the current planetary transformational shift. Each one of us deals with a specific element in this wider process of delivery. Here I want to underline that these elements gain considerable clarity, perspective and definition when they move from our personal limbo out into the collective. We can above all become aware of our emerging gifts and talents when we allow them to be visible and acknowledgeable by others, instead of breeding them in isolation. After many years of working shamanically with people I have realised that the majority of individuals are unable to identify their own talents and often even regard them as negative or harmful. Hence they may continue to bury them for ages, unless they accidentally or forcefully happen to disclose them and receive positive feedback from others. Pisces is a huge melting pot, thriving on connections and all forms of blending, inviting us to surrender to the multidimensional ocean of life and death, sharing who we are and receiving the sharing of others, in an ongoing process of giving and receiving, which eventually loses sight of the outdated difference between subject and object, ecstatically proclaiming the unexpurgated and immaculate wholeness of our nature. Deep breath…
Among all the signs of the zodiac, Pisces is the one closer to non-HAC and the experience of multidimensional realities. Placed in the last stage of the zodiacal path, it represents all potential peaks in human consciousness. Here the zodiac circle reaches its final stage and can either face a quantum leap, moving into a brand new definition, or get back to sector one (Aries), repeating the same cycle all over again. Pisces holds the key to the forbidden threshold of the zodiac, the one that allows the shift into the multidimensional realm, the movement into the spiralling cycle and the release of the karmic wheel. Hence, during the period of Pisces, it is easy to experience confrontation with threshold situations, glimpses of alternative lives and parallel universes, together with feelings of bewilderment, confusion or fear, as they are perceived by our HAC identities. The alignment with the essence of Pisces bestows the capacity to unveil multidimensional portals or itineraries. This is possible or easier when blocks and grievances have been effectively released through the journey in the preceding signs. When this is not the case, Pisces may become an excruciating vortex of hallucinations and turmoil. Pisces includes the whole spectrum of identities we employ to voyage in the intricate landscape of our multidimensional self. Hence in Pisces resides the possibility of either unveiling their common source or preserving their separation.
Pisces has a close association with Dionysus, also known as Bacchus, the god of ecstasy, trance and dance. Similarly to Pisces, its origins and nature are confused and assorted. According to one myth he is the son of Zeus and a mortal woman (Semele), who is killed by Zeus himself while Dionysus is still in her womb. Dionysus is then exceptionally born from the thigh of Zeus. Given that Hera was furious about this birth, Zeus entrusted Dionysus to the Hyades, a group of nymphs who disguised the god as a girl and raised him as an androgyne. In the Orphic mysteries the mother of the god is Persephone, queen of the Underworld, whereas in the Elusinian mysteries it is Demeter. Dionysus is usually associated with ecstatic sexual orgies, trance dances, wild activities and whatever relates with the bona fide horny bit. One of the major features of his mysteries were the release of fear and grievances through terrorizing experiences or taboo activities, followed by a peaceful stage of relief aimed at promoting multidimensional rebirth and shift in awareness. His devotees, the Maenads (meaning “mad women”), also called Bacchantes, accompanied the god with frenzy dances and processions, holding the Sacred Cone wand, or thyrsos (a rod with a pine cone on the end), and were believed to tear apart any animal or men they came across. All major references in the Dionysian mysteries are common features of shamanic initiation practices such as dismemberment, trance dance, communion rites, vision quest, sacred embrace, sacrifice, including the Basic Ritual of the Sacred Cone. In the Dionysian and other authentic mystery traditions, including original shamanism, HAC ethics, social status and comfort have never been an element of concern. Their primary focus is gaining multidimensional awareness, which often involves radically infringing HAC taboos and conventions. Those on this path consciously disregard all HAC dualities between good and evil, carrying out acts that ordinary people would judge as impure, revolting, crazy and dangerous. This is a most controversial zone about which I prefer not to write further… for the time being… As for now, let’s return to more innocent astrological considerations.
Pisces’s ruling planet is Neptune, a planetary force associated with spiritual enlightenment, mysticism, multidimensional art, trance, visions, as well as with addiction, confinement, confusion and madness. The position of Neptune in an astroshamanic map is useful for it may indicate the areas of life that can best promote experiences of trance, ecstasy and whatever is non-HAC. Neptune is one of the outer planets and takes about 164 years to move through the entire zodiac, spending 13 years in each sign. Its transits identify an expanded potential for non-HAC experiences. If the individual concerned aims at connecting with his multidimensional nature, Neptune’s transit can bring significant visionary events, lucid shits in parallel universes, extreme artistic creativity and profound expanded states of consciousness. On the other hand, for people who are strongly conditioned by HAC, Neptune can cause nebulous, confusion and depression. What seemed to be certainties about one’s life may dissipate or unveil unexpected developments. Neptune is currently transiting in the area of 20° Aquarius (on 21 February 2007 it will be exactly on that degree). This means that those who have astrological angles or planets (especially the Sun, Moon or Ascendant) between 20° and 24° Aquarius are likely to perceive potent Neptune effects. A similar situation also applies to those with relevant planets between 20° and 24° Leo, Taurus and Scorpio, while for folks who have those planets between 20° and 24° Gemini or Sagittarius, Neptune is also strong, yet perhaps in a more easygoing or less challenging way.

Astroshamanic Touch: The Way of the Primal Embrace
Astroshamanic Touch is an outstanding multidimensional approach to spiritual healing bodywork, which Franco has developed for more than ten years, integrating teachings from ancient traditions with more recent channelled material. Since February 2003, when the theme was initially introduced during a session in a two-week astroshamanic training held at the Findhorn Foundation, this practice has been gradually exposed with the opening official workshops held in 2005 at Moncalieri (Turin) and in 2006 at Tolé (Bologna). This unique approach to energy bodywork utilises the potent dynamics of shamanic trance to create most energetic states of harmony in your body, soul and spirit. Through the sensitive and empowering use of ritual strokes, contacts and postures, operated in alignment with the earth rhythms and stellar firmament, astroshamanic touch works on the multidimensional body, reawakening the remembrance of our original nature and purpose. During the workshops or group sessions, by practising closely with other human beings within the sacred grid of the astroshamanic cosmology, the aim is to create remarkable opportunities for releasing individual and collective blocks, becoming a gateway for healing energies and directing them towards honourable intentions. In particular astroshamanic touch works on the skeleton and bone structure, which is regarded as a crystal core multidimensional hardware for storing, distributing and redeploying information and energy. The third dimensional physical world is a mass of atomic material, which receives decisive animation from multidimensional substances dwelling far beyond our HAC field of observation. Whatever appears in HAC emanates from non-HAC energy fields, which astroshamanic touch aims at stimulating and bringing to our pragmatic human awareness. The task here is to align the human skeleton structure and all its outer layers (tissues, muscles, flesh, blood, organs, etc.) with our multidimensional self, bearing in mind that, as a result of this connection, our entire perception will drastically shift. Our physical body is not a frozen structure hooked in a separated reality based on limited time and space. It is a dynamic vortex of energy, continually relating with a multidimensional field of energy. What we humanly perceive in HAC about our body is merely the product of our human belief systems based on separation and denial of our multidimensional nature. When you are open to release HAC boundaries, new and definitely much more exciting configurations emerge. Once these are consciously and pragmatically experienced, they can then be gradually integrated in HAC, healing our fragmented reality and reconnecting it to its original source.
In the course on astroshamanic touch held in Frankfurt in April we will discover ways of employing physical contact and sexual energy to foster expanded states of consciousness, retrieve soul parts, reawaken healing talents and integrate them in everyday life. We will explore the multidimensional sacred dynamics of shamanic sexuality, employing the body as a keyboard aimed at recovering and grounding planetary forces. The intent is to release blocks that hinder our potentials, celebrating the sacredness of our multidimensional body in alignment with the healing flow of energy. With deep trance body work, we will share ways of channelling profound passions, tranforming and merging them in accordance with one’s life purpose. All physical touch in this workshop is voluntary and optional, with no involvement of the genitals or other forms of sexual stimulation, and with boundaries set according to what is safe for each participant.
Drawing from the rites of passages of archaic mystery schools and esoteric orders, encompassing eastern and western traditions, astroshamanic touch is an enlightened synthesis of the essence of many paths of liberation based on the connection of our human separated reality with the multidimensional realms. One of these paths, I briefly refer herewith, is the Bridal Chamber of the Gnostic tradition. Please bear in mind that courses and workshops on astroshamanic touch are entirely experiential, and do not require understanding on what follows.
"What is the bridal chamber, if not the place of trust and consciousness in the embrace? It is an icon of Union, beyond all forms of possession; here is where the veil is torn from top to bottom; here is where some arise and awaken." (Philip, 76)
Bridal Chamber, Hieros Gamos or Sacred Embrace are all terms denoting a most ancient and primal connection between the two polarities aimed at manifesting their unconditional unity. Among the sacraments of the Gnostic tradition mentioned in the Gospel of Philip, the Bridal Chamber is referred to as the "holy of the holies", which similarly to the third stage of the Basic Ritual of the Sacred Cone exemplifies the third stage, after "the holy" baptism (first stage) and "the holy of the holy" redemption or atonement (second stage). According to Gnosticism Jesus is the hero descending to release the separation between polarities and restore the androgynous self of our Core Multidimensional Identity. This endeavour is manifested through the Sacrament of the Bridal Chamber. "The anointed Christ came to rectify the separation and join them together. Now, a woman joins with her husband in the bridal bedroom, and those who have joined in the bridal bedroom will not reseparate." (Philip, 70:12-20) For the Gnostic tradition the bridal chamber is the arena of reunion of soul and spirit, male and female, and the release of the perception based on separation. This does not necessarily mean that separation and the Human Arbitrary Configuration are wrong. "Light and darkness, life and death, right and left.are inseparable. (but) neither are the good good, nor the evil evil...each one will dissolve into its original nature. But those who are exalted above the world are indissoluble, eternal." (Philip 53:10-25)
The Gnostic Jesus identifies the androgynous state in which the union of the binary system has been achieved. Here the path of initiation of human beings involves uniting with their opposite multi-dimensional polarity. Until they manage to do so, they provisionally experience this polarity in the opposite sex, whose function is merely that of the gatekeeper, with all the implications of both the bona fide horny bit and the consciousness diverting mechanism. Eventually, this is a multi-dimensional enterprise that implies the union with the "heavenly bridegroom", the inner opposite polarity and the transparent re-establishment of the link between primal multi-dimensional identity and human arbitrary configuration. As part of the shamanic initiatory training one has to experience both the part of the androgynous bridegroom and the separated soul.
In the Gospel of Philip there are also references to a sacred embrace, which is an intercourse based upon the blending of the two polarities, or binary system, and their expansion into the trinity, i.e. the return to the original unity. This practice may appear similar to a sexual interaction, which is what makes it extremely controversial, yet it is described as devoid of lusty, romantic or procreation intentions. As for the pragmatic nature of this sacred embrace, the Gnostic texts appear to describe it as an experience similar to tantra, an intercourse without physical orgasm. "The embrace that incarnates the hidden union... is not only a reality of the flesh, for there is silence in this embrace. It does not arise from impulse or desire; it is an act of will." (Philip, 122) In the Gospel of Thomas, this practice is depicted as the way to connect with our primal multi-dimensional identity and establish a link with human separated reality. "Jesus said to them, 'When you make the two into one, and when you make the inner like the outer and the outer like the inner, and the upper like the lower, and when you make male and female into a single one, so that the male will not be male nor the female be female, when you make eyes in place of an eye, a hand in place of a hand, a foot in place of a foot, an image in place of an image, then you will enter the kingdom.'" (Thomas, 22).

The Grand Original Quest at Corvaro (15-21 June 2007)
The Original Quest is the title of a workshop officially born in 1995, when I held its premiere at A/M/O/T/ (Associazione Medicine Olistiche Tradizionali), a holistic centre in Bologna (Italy) ran by energy therapist Renato Tittarelli. After experimenting with time-space voyages and parallel universes for almost two decades, this was my first public workshop entirely devoted to the topic. The event made such a remarkable impact that the following months two longer and more intensive editions followed in Valpisa, a community centre focused on multidimensional research and stellar contacts, led by the medium Luisa Muratori. During the second retreat at Valpisa we built a vast astroshamanic circuit (more than 3 Kms.) - with 16 stone temples (12 Sectors and 4 Directions) and three stone circles - around the territory of the community. The workshop has then been held at the Findhorn Foundation every year since 2001 (including this year from 7 to 13 June 2007). To celebrate the 12th anniversary of the Original Quest, and to coincide with the first Summer Solstice of the current six-year cycle (2007-2012), I am holding a Grand Original Quest from 15 to 21 June 2007 in the astounding setting of the mystery Mountains of La Duchessa at Corvaro, near L’Aquila (The Eagle), the capital of Abruzzo, organized by Associazione Culturale Terra di Luce by Liliana Cozza.
The Grand Original Quest is a special astroshamanic retreat aimed at expanding our multidimensional awareness in a resolute and penetrating way, at the dawn of the imminent and potential planetary transformational processes. This workshop provides a direct and experiential understanding of the many-sided of our nature meant as an emanation of the universe, known and unknown. We will employ various practices from ancient traditions, learning how to navigate through different energy fields, identifying apparent anomalies, fractures, blocks, power points, healing gifts and zones. We will be trained to use the astroshamanic system of the 12 Sectors, the binary and trinity codes, the basic cartography of stellar circuits and other strategic applications for the retrieval of our original 12-strand DNA. The workshop also covers the theme of parallel universes, time-space gateways and the multidimensionality of the physical territory, including the exploration of numerous aspects of occult and non-ordinary geography. We will investigate our most ancient roots, connecting various parts of our ancestral life, releasing old blocks and wounds trapped in our inner and outer landscape, unfolding luminous potentials and promoting healing in the environment at all levels. The programme includes: soul retrieval, time-space voyages, distant astroshamanic healing, trance dance, astroshamanic touch, visionary walks, activation of multidimensional portals, advanced applications of the Basic Ritual of the Sacred Cone and other practices, which will develop spontaneously according to the motivations and visions of the participants.
The retreat takes place in the medieval village of Corvaro (one hour from Rome), between the lake of La Duchessa and its wild mystery mountains. It starts on the last New Moon of Spring and culminates with the Summer Solstice. The dates and place of the retreat have purposefully been chosen to support this type of work. The event is open to participants of all nationalities and is held by Franco both in English and Italian. This is the first prologue workshop of the Astroshamanic Gateways Series, a series of events devoted to the experiential understanding and astroshamanic exploration of multidimensional gateways, alternative configurations, the Sacred Cone and the Provisional Order.

A Letter from Jesi by Letizia Mocheggiani
This is one of the reports Letizia Mocheggiani regularly sends on the One Year Course in Astroshamanism. The course is a pioneering model taking place at Jesi (near Ancona, Italy), and may also ideally expand in other countries. Jesi plays a relevant role in the astroshamanic grid of the Italian peninsula and, being the place of birth of Frederick II, also in the shadow historical itinerary of the Sacred Cone. The venue for the course is a vast 18th century large Italian villa complex, which also includes a small church devoted to Mary as the Star of the Sea. The villa is called Villombra (“Villa Shadow”). Letizia serves as the organiser and assistant of the course, She is also a remarkable healing visionary being, a talented graphic designer and the mother of Teresa, her five-year old daughter.
It is almost one month since the first workshop of the one-year course in Jesi, and I would like to share my experiences. As part of the homework decided on that occasion, I do a daily outer practice, which involves lighting a candle, smudging, opening the directions, connecting with the Intent and the Guide, then after remaining for a few minutes in the space of peace and calm resulting from the previous processes, I release the directions and return to my ordinary activities. It is surprising to notice how these simple procedures, when practiced regularly, create a potent energy field that supports the manifestation of the Intent. Two times every week I do a shamanic journey, which is my inner practice, and every other week we meet together with the group of participants to the course, sharing our experiences and practicing.
Since I have started doing the above exercises with regularity I realise that my organising and pragmatic skills have improved, harmoniously blending with my typical abundant creativity and intuitive insights, which in the past would cause problems and tensions in my rapport with the outer world. In these last days I have experienced the energy of strong grievances. Many friends and relatives have involved me with their issues and this has brought feelings of anger and anguish. Yet I have managed to stay as a witness, without judging. I have also had many lucid dreams, with some of their sequences remaining imprinted in my eyes for the whole day. They would remind me that reality is much wider and extends far beyond what I ordinarily see. Every day I am confronted with the choice between returning to the old models, based on fear and separation, and opening up to the shift, which allows my true nature to reawaken. It is a difficult moment and this requires constant alertness and awareness. Old passions have emerged again and a new joy pervades my being whenever I discover one of those passions. My path is in constant development and supports the project of my soul.
The additional meetings with the group, despite the workshop, help supporting each other. During these weeks Patrizia, one of the participants, has made a research on a non-ordinary location we both spontaneously went on a journey. It is a zone surrounded by rounded mounts with a valley in the middle and a lake or sea. The main feature of this place is that one cannot stop there. It is a place of transit, a link between worlds. We both feel that it is possible there to connect with parallel lives. This is the last journey Patrizia did there. “I went to that place, calling it with its name, with the intent of exploring areas that I saw before in the distance. My guide is with me and we move together in the first gallery of those mounts. I heard that its name was the Mystery Gallery. There I have found a vast central area with a hollowed pyramid, which I have seen levitating. Then there was the Gallery of Remembrance… the Gallery of Ideas and the Gallery of Dreams..”
Both I and Patrizia feel that this place is very remarkable and perhaps other people on the path may be familiar with it, and could connect with us if this is the case.
Another participant, Cristina, shared her vision about a crystal cave and a healing guidance she received there. Following her vision, we decided to visit a cave in Frasassi, establishing a connection between the vision and the place.
All participants have had a strong experience of the connection with the Guide, and the love and power that comes from this relationship. Each one has her own path with the related messages, intuitions and visions. We understand that while it is essential to move individually on this path, it is also vital to come together, cooperate and share. In this way the astroshamanic path becomes a healing path of knowledge where we do not feel isolated. This provides support and encouragement.
Franco is our reference point and with him we are all regularly connected, receiving support and sharing about our doubts, fears as well as joys and ecstasies. His capacity to listen, non-judgment, purity and clarity in words and facts, shows us an example and aligns us with our true Intent.
In one cycle of the Moon we are going to meet again in Jesi for the next workshop of the course, the Way of the Wast and Fire. Although I have taken part to various workshops with Franco, I find the course taking place at Jesi very innovative. It is a blending between experience and knowledge, individual and collective, shamanic voyage and manifestation. Franco takes us on a journey from East to North, supporting the rapport with the four elements and the creation of a direct dialogue with our multidimensional nature.

The Forbidden Threshold: I would like to share my experience following a distant session with Franco. I have written theatre screenplays for years, and they have always been welcomed by the public. Yet, when I contacted Franco I was in a time of refusal of this work, which appeared to me as a stupid way of showing up, relating to strangers about one’s intimate life, a sort of useless exhibitionism. I do not know why I was in this crisis, yet it was surely damaging me, and was also causing frustration and resentment among theatre actors, directors and technicians. I then decided to contact Franco, about a play that was supposed to be performed in Rome. The title of the play was La soglia proibita (the Forbidden Threshold), a collage of four stories about women who were related with Rome and with difficult situations in dealing with power. Right after listening to a few of my words, Franco captured the essence of the issue. He gave me a practice to employ for several days and also explained which knots I had to release... Miracle! I felt magically reassured and an extraordinary energy of joy and serenity pervaded the period preceding the performance. The show has continued for one month, with the theatre booked to capacity every evening, which is quite rare in Rome. There was also a lot of harmony among all. I wish to publicly honour Franco and thank him with all myself.
