What is Astroshamanism?

Welcome to the Spring Equinox issue of PAN, reaching you on the approaching eve of the New Moon (at 2:44, on 19 March 2007, in 28° Pisces 07’), which is also a partial eclipse of the Sun. The proximity of the New Moon with eclipse and Equinox makes the access to the first spring of the cycle 2007-2012 a most fabulous event (see details in the article below, The Spirit of the Equinox).
This time traditionally stands for the preparation of the opening of the Eastern Gateway, the fiery cycle of clarity, vision and illumination, bestowing blessings of authenticity, courage and honesty on all those who are ready to embrace them. Spring brings the renewal of the earth, as well as the potential regeneration of our unique nature through the connection with our higher self, Spirit Guide, Core Multidimensional Identity or whatever you call That (see article below titled The Spirit Guide and Core Multidimensional Identity). The previous voyage through autumn and winter involved the cleansing descent into the realm of darkness and the retrieval of precious gifts from the roots of our ancestors. If we are available to thoroughly play a part in the sacred theatre of life, spring carries the opportunity for consciousness to return to the light, setting off foremost healing enterprises and luminous pathways for the benefit of all, including next generations.
In multidimensional terms past and future generations are merely our own duplicates set in different time frequencies. By honouring them, we honour ourselves in the present and also discover who we truly are. In some of the most ancient mystery traditions of the planet life was set up through the ongoing awareness of seven generations. This entailed considering present events in the perspective of seven generations both past and future. Past and future were acknowledged as parallel universes co-existing in the present. It was considered vital to establish regular rapports with those universes for this would uphold the persistence of the web of life. Then the Human Arbitrary Configuration (HAC) and its belief systems based on separation prevailed, producing our current fragmented reality confined in a time limbo zone.
The beginning of spring is a most ideal time to initiate new healing ventures aimed at mending the web of life and retrieving our lost connections. As the Sun enters its luminous cycle of ascension, ample energy is available to implement pioneering actions for large scale healing processes. These opening deeds are crucial in the realisation of all greatest achievements that ultimately reach completion on this planet. They require guts of steel, heroic spontaneity, openness, audacity, luminous assertion, playful excitement and all the other spiritual warrior qualities of Aries, the fist sign of the zodiac. Hence, if there is something you truly cherish in life for yourself and others, this is a great time to take action, to move towards that result. Yet, in doing so, the challenge is to progress beyond individual motivation and allow the realisation of your intent to become a multidimensional achievement, involving ancestors, future generations and other folks living in the present time. In this way an intention is meant to benefit all parties and release the illusive identification with our separated ego, thus becoming an Honourable Intention.
On the first day of spring, which this year starts on 21 March 2007, at 0:08 GMT, and also as from 18 March 2007, around the time of the New Moon and eclipse, throughout the Astroshamanic Network various celebrations will be held. All these events aim at supporting the global healing grid and a loving multidimensional shift in human consciousness. At Findhorn and other locations, we will start an astroshamanic long term project meant to activate a grid of Sacred Cone healing rays in all parts of the globe. The aim is to create astroshamanic sacred circles in different parts of the world. These circles will cover large portions of territory and will consists of 12 Sectors, which also expand outward through the globe establishing connections with the other circles More information about the initiative will be disclosed at a later stage only to those who are interested in the project. If you feel drawn by the above, please contact us. Workshops related with the above project are: the Grand Original Quest at Corvaro, near Rome in Italy, (15-21 June 2007), the Original Quest (7-13 July 2007) at Findhorn, and the Findhorn Astroshamanic Summer Gathering, from 20 to 26 July 2007 (see info below).
From 18 to 22 March 2007, the gentle appeal is to celebrate group practices, such as the Basic Ritual of the Sacred Cone or other similar astroshamanic rituals, including distant healing work. Yet the challenge of this cycle 2007-2012 rather than performing rituals, involves taking direct actions and manifesting concrete results in our visible HAC reality. The New Moon may draw intuitions and guidance regarding what is the best course of action. Hence the real invitation is to be open and embrace the way we can best serve ourselves and the whole to which we belong. Please contact provordo@yahoo.co.uk if you wish to receive more details about network activities.
After the Spring Equinox I fly to France and then to Italy. In Jesi (Italy) I will hold The Way of the East, a seminar devoted to the energy of spring and the element Fire, from 31 March to 1 April 2007. Later, at the apex of the Holy Week, from 7 to 13 April 2007, I run The Blessed Way of Passion at Findhorn, followed by Multidimensional Portals of the Senses: A Gateway Course in Astroshamanic Healing Touch in the mountains of Vogelsberg near Frankfurt (Germany) from 20 to 24 April 2007 (Erik: emansson@hotmail.com Tel. 069/95504794 Mob. 0171-3493424). This event is a most significant opportunity to learn new advanced applications of astroshamanic bodywork
May you be ecstatic, peaceful and firmly connected with the healing power of spring.
Blessings, Franco

The Spirit of the Equinox by Franco Santoro

The spring equinox heralds the departure of darkness and the promise of increasing light. It is the border zone between the Lower World and the Higher World, a time when from the Middle World and our HAC reality, we can equally address the beings of the other two worlds. These include our ancestors and future generations, our past and future, which in fourth multidimensional terms are merely two different locations coexisting simultaneously, together with our so called present. In these two areas, astrologically represented by the Immum Coeli and Medium Coeli, we continue to exist as multidimensional beings, while our HAC identity lives its separated existence. At this powerful time what is represented is the potential of a new beginning, the start of a novel cycle, which is tactically emphasized by the next six year from 2007 to 2012. These years are meant to establish a gateway between our human separated reality (HAC) and the Core Multidimensional Identity (CMI), who is the central self encompassing all the three worlds and abiding beyond time-space. These years are intended to expand our horizons, producing a radical shift from individual to collective, from limited to expanded consciousness. A likely development in this process is that more people may come together, creating, promoting and supporting multidimensional healing networks and communities. This does not necessarily mean living in the same environment. The novelty of this cycle is the resonance with a multidimensional sense of communion abiding beyond the limitations of the conventional material plane and all the related HAC grievances. This implies unveiling the higher level of density that connect us all with the true matrix of our being, reawakening and employing our multidimensional bodies, travelling through time, learning to meet in alternative configurations, promoting synergy and ultimately gaining the freedom to release the painful connotations of our human separated reality.
The Spring Equinox occurs precisely when the Sun enters Aries at 0:08, 21 March 2007. It will be preceded by a New Moon at 2:44, on 19 March 2007, in 28° Pisces 07’. This is also a partial eclipse of the Sun (visible from eastern Asia and parts of northern Alaska). When there is a solar eclipse the New Moon is most remarkable. The fact that it is closely followed by the equinox, makes the access to the first spring of the cycle 2007-2012 an awesome event. The Moon provisionally blocks the light of the Sun, providing a glimpse of suspension from HAC and the opportunity to connect with what abides beyond our separate reality. The last times the solar eclipse occurred in the same zone of the zodiac in Pisces was on 10 March 1988 (27° Pisces 42’) and 10 March 1969 (27° Pisces 25’). If you were around in those times on this planet, it would be ideal to retrieve memory about what was happening in your life then. Those two times zones are connected with each other and also linked with the upcoming New Moon, creating a trinity of time-space locations, which could unveil significant details and energy.
Solar eclipses are generally related with visible events occurring in the HAC world and a sense of hyperactivity. Hence they are superlative to initiate changes, make commitments, start projects, take quantum leaps and embrace synergy. They express all the typical qualities of Aries, which is the sign the Sun will enter shortly after having met the Moon. The effect of an eclipse is strong also three months before and after, with consequences developing also in the following three years.
A series of projects are being developed in the Astroshamanic Network during these New Moon and Spring Equinox days, including the following months leading to the Summer Solstice and the Autumn Equinox. In the period from 18 to 22 March 2007, the invitation is to join in collective rituals and energy work. For example, the Basic Ritual of the Sacred Cone could be used or other practices involving releasing energy and then directing it towards a healing intention. Yet, the power of this time, is not limited to celebrations or work with non-ordinary states of consciousness. The challenge of the cycle 2007-2012 is to take pragmatic actions, to operate directly in HAC so as to manifest concrete results. The New Moon may draw intuitions and guidance regarding the best ways to do that. Hence the true incitement is to be open to embrace the way in which each one of us can give a pragmatic contribution on this planet, doing his/her part of the job and allowing that part to align with the larger network. The shift from individual to collective awareness is the major key of the novel cycle. Yet what is emerging here is also a new paradigm regarding the collective, which implies becoming receptive to the multidimensional implications of large group and organizations, the way they extend through time and space, seen and unseen.
Various forthcoming workshops, such as the Grand Original Quest in Corvaro (Italy) from 15 to 21 June 2007), the Findhorn Astroshamanic Summer Gathering at Findhorn (20-26 July 2007) and the Sacred Relationship Network retreat in Jesi (Italy) from 28 September to 3 October 2007, will focus on the themes discussed in these notes.

Spirit Guide and Core Multidimensional Identity
by Franco Santoro

Spirit Guide is a term mainly employed in the Western traditions to indicate entities that choose to operate as helpers and guardians for human beings. In Western spiritualism and occultism, Spirit Guides are regarded as beings that once lived on Earth (possibly to understand the implications of HAC life) and then decided to act as disincarnated teachers for incarnated beings. Their guidance is usually gentle, respectful and available upon request. This means that they will not dispense information unless you are open or make a direct invitation to receive it. Spirit Guides generally aim at expanding multidimensional awareness, often providing different perspectives from our usual ones, yet refusing to make decisions for us or predicting our future.
There are many types of Spirit Guides: some of them have specific functions, while others appear from time to time or only during a given period. Certain Guides are meant to accompany us on one part of our journey and, once we have mastered the related lessons, they move on, perhaps to guide others on that same path. Some Guides may be ancestors or deceased loved ones, who choose to assist as auxiliary helpers in various ways. There are also primary Guides who remain closely linked with our soul and stay available for the entire life. These may be one, two or three, and include connections encompassing the time before birth or after death. Their function is to operate as permanent linking agent between HAC and non-HAC, and representative of our eternal multidimensional nature. In astroshamanism they are called Vertical Guides, and are each associated with one of the Three Worlds (Higher, Lower, Middle).
A Course in Miracles provides a significant portrait of the Spirit Guide, who is identified with the Holy Spirit. The Holy Spirit is described through the course as “God’s answer to the ego” with “the task of undoing what the ego has made” (T79). He is regarded as the mediator between illusion and reality, or fear and love, “the remaining communication link between God and His separated Sons” (MT89), “the part of the mind that lies between the ego and the spirit, mediating between them always in favour of the spirit” (T132), a healing force operating within our consciousness to guide toward an ecstatic perception of life. According to the course the Holy Spirit “abides in the part of your mind that is part of the Christ Mind. He represents your Self and your Creator, Who are one. He speaks for God and also for you, being joined with both. And therefore it is He Who proves them one” (MT89). The aim of the Holy Spirit is to help us release our painful attachment to the separated reality we believe to live in. In this respect his support as a Guide is crucial. “You have set up this strange situation so that it is impossible to escape from it without a Guide Who does know what your reality is. The purpose of this Guide is merely to remind you of what you want. He is not attempting to force an alien will upon you. He is merely making every possible effort, within the limits you impose on Him, to re-establish your own will in your awareness” (T160).
In Gnosticism, the Spirit reveals himself through fragments of light which already exist in human beings and form a bridge between this world and the world of the True God. This God abides beyond any possible universe and has not created anything, yet he has emanated the substance of everything that exists in the visible and unseen world. During the process of emanation His essence moved far away and underwent considerable mutations, at times corrupted or alien. The Gnostic myths consider different layers of divinities or superior beings existing between the True God and us. One of them (Sophia) generated a perverted entity (Ialdabaoth, or the Demiurge) who, unaware of his origins, imagined himself as the ultimate God and became the creator of the material and psychic universe where we live. Gnosis means “inner knowledge”, which is the capacity to see the divine essence through layers of apparent reality. Here the Spirit Guide is meant as a filter and manifests differently according to the nature of each individual.
Guides are obviously a typical feature also in shamanism. Their role is crucial for they provide the required protection and help in order to move in the multidimensional realms. In situations of difficulties they can incite and produce the necessary power. They may warn about obstacles and traps, battle with hostile forces, or also provide teachings and direction. They can also be sent as emissaries to perform special healing tasks that the shaman cannot personally attend to. Shamanic achievements entirely depend on the help of Guides. However, when the individual refuse to answer his shamanic calling, Guides may cause frustration, pain and despair. For our true nature the Guide is the most intimate companion, just as for the ego it is the fiercest enemy.
Although their function has always been the same, the appearances and the names Spirit Guides have used throughout history is never-ending. Usually, Guides are stereotyped according to the belief systems and the culture of the persons involved. This is merely a didactical strategy aimed at helping us in gradually shifting awareness from HAC to non-HAC, which is essential especially in the first stages of connection with the Guide. In this respect the Guide refers to elements derived from the traditions and approaches that the person feels more aligned with. If the subject is attracted by Christian angels, Native Americans, Egyptians or spirit animals, these are the ideal forms the Guide can take. Guides can also use unconventional or unexpected forms, if this can best serve the personality of their contact.
All these adjustments are useful in the preliminary stages of the multidimensional reawakening process. Later the seeker may move on to a deeper connection with the Guide, which usually involves stepping beyond his HAC conditionings regarding what the Guide should be. This stage may imply a radical shift of perception, which not all individuals are ready to take. The reference here becomes the direct and unexpurgated experience of the Guide, progressively devoid of any adaptation to cultural stereotypes. At that stage the seeker will confront a fresh definition of the Spirit Guide, which may be poles apart from the preceding model. This new Guide can hardly be described in HAC, since it is what HAC mainly denies or misjudge in order to guarantee its survival. I call this deeper feature of the Guide, Core Multidimensional Identity (CMI).
In astroshamanism the Spirit Guide is alternatively defined as Core Multidimensional Identity (CMI). This term is aimed at firmly setting the Spirit Guide on a multidimensional level, avoiding romantic connotations and other misinterpretations caused by the term Spirit Guide. Traditional shamans and multidimensional healers are very practical beings, and are not concerned with spirituality, as most human beings understand it. For them the world we live in is a predatory universe, a game simulation or the fragment of a much vaster and complex reality. Here there is crucial and heavy work to do, which requires boundless pragmatism and no space for intellectualism or a mystical crush. These shamans, to put it as don Juan, regard spirituality as “an empty ideality, an assertion without basis that we believe to be very beautiful because it is encrusted with literary concepts and poetic expressions, but which never goes beyond that.” or “a description of something impossible to achieve within the patterns of the world of everyday life, and it is not a real way of acting.”[ii]

The Shamanic Way of Cinema – Part Two by Franco Santoro

An element that greatly distinguishes all human generations living in this current time frame from those of other ages is the effect cinema and television have had on their life. Through this media HAC has found its best way to settle and promote its separate reality with all its conditionings. While most television programmes and movies definitely support HAC’s paradigm of denial and isolation, it is also true that some works have the capacity to reawaken our multidimensional awareness, allowing significant communications from non-HAC to unfold. Substantial non-HAC information is often unveiled in the blink of an eye, despite the HAC basic content of the movie, and can get through only to those who are ready. These usually end up being a small minority, who is not bound to considerably affect consensus reality. Yet for some individuals exposure to such movies can operate as a decisive triggering element for retrieving soul parts, acquiring spirit medicines and may also function as a shamanic initiation. Symptoms of these effects occur when upon watching a movie, you feel deep excitement, amazement, love and power, which continues to last for hours and even days. Another indicator is that these feelings may set off insights, intuitions, ideas, aspirations and memories, which are not necessary related with the story of the movie itself. All in a sudden you are mysteriously moved by something that leads you into an expanded awareness, yet you realise that this is not due to the plot, the dialogues or a specific scene. It is difficult to explain what prompted it: perhaps the expression of an actor, the movement of an object, a sound. At times the entire film communicates multidimensional ideas, which deeply ground in our minds. However, the function of the movie is frequently simply that of igniting information already available in our minds. Hence there is a sense of reawakening, dejà vu and mysterious familiarity.
The essential point in my years of research on cinema and television is that, unless we become aware of our own creative power, HAC media drastically shape our reality and perception of the world. Their obvious and subtle information enters into our mind and creates specific effects, which then define the paradigms of our life. As a result, if you are on the path of multidimensional reawakening it can be very helpful to bring awareness regarding your approach to movies. First of all you may consider the types of movies you feel more attracted to, and then find out whether they are aligned with your intentions and with whatever you have chosen to deeply explore in your life. We are already exposed to so much conditioning in most of our required HAC activities (such as school, work, family, etc.) that is does not help much our healing consciousness to add even more during leisure or rest, which is usually when most people watch movies. By regularly absorbing certain programmes that support the perception of separation our minds are shaped accordingly and project a view of reality based on the denial of our true expanded nature. On the contrary, intentionally watching movies that trigger alternative states of awareness may reawaken your potentials and uplift your motivations. Here it is also important to be aware of your prejudices regarding certain types of movies. For example, if you notice that you have a strong resistance towards watching science fiction, comedy or war movies, perhaps it would be ideal to consider them, at least for a while. Shifting our movie watching tendencies is often a way of going beyond subtle conditionings and potentially opening up to unexpected healing developments.
Movies with non-HAC information provide a large variety of direct or indirect messages, which include the following: “the objective physical world we believe to live in (HAC) is a bogus, illusive, simulated or separated reality”; “time, death and the conflict between polarities, or good and evil, are deceptive and virtual features of this separated reality, and do not truly exist”; “everything and everyone is part of the same whole”; “our true nature is multidimensional”; “you are the creator of your own reality”. The latter is currently one of the main themes in recent movies, such as What the Bleep Do We Know!?, featuring interviews with leading authorities in the fields of quantum physics, molecular biology, neurology and metaphysical thought. In these works objective reality is explicitly and scientifically defined as the product of our minds.
Human beings either create their own reality or live in a reality created by someone else. As long as there is awareness regarding these options, life is shamanically powerful. Pain and all kinds of grievances develop when I become the victim of a separate reality with no possibility of shifting elsewhere or making any choice. This is mainly because I am not aware of my choice to play a part in this separate reality, however painful it may be. It is still a reality I have created, although I am not aware of my role as a creator and ascribe such a creation to someone else. “We see what we choose to see”, “You are making all of this. You are creating an entire world from your imagination” and “Everyone here has his private universe” says the spirit guide in the afterlife of the protagonist (interpreted by Robin Williams) of What Dreams May Come. Yet, things are not always as simple as that, and the slogan “you create your own reality” can easily be manipulated by the HAC advertising system. HAC has the capacity of polluting whatever it meets, and especially the ideas that appear to threat it. HAC sucks human expanded awareness and replace it with a separated programme. If the intent is to retrieve our multidimensional awareness, what counts is to move beyond the limits of the programme, no matter whether it is a low or high programme.
The basic requirement in life, as well as when watching films, is awareness. Awareness works with all conditions of life and also with all movies, no matter whether they provide overt insights into the multidimensional or minor subtle references and even none. As I wrote, in many cases, the movie may provide a deep inspiration or stimulus, regardless of its content. For this to occur a movie does not necessarily has to be a “spiritual”, “inspiring” or “good” movie. It is the way you are able to access its encrypted information that counts and this is available also in the most conditioning works. On the other hand, certain movies that appear very “spiritual” and “inspiring” may not leave any space for your own elaboration and end up conditioning you even more than those which seem to be of a much lower quality.
Here follow some suggestions in order to promote shamanic awareness when watching movies. Before starting the film, set an intention and connect with your Guide, asking to become aware of any element of the movie that can support your potential and your current healing path. Then, watch the movie, paying attention to whatever causes deep resonance, impressions, insight, amazement, or any remarkable feeling. Once, the movie is over, jot down some notes about the highlights of your experience. Then, using the highlights as a guideline, take a brief shamanic journey and thoroughly explore the movie in search of spirit medicines, guidance, or anything that can empower you. At the end, write down some notes about what you discovered and keep them for further reference. You may also decide to watch the movie again after some time, alone or with a friend.
What follows is part two of a synopsis containing a provisional list of movies with non-HAC components. Part one appeared in the previous issue of PAN. I am providing these lists merely as an example or glimpse of a larger study that I may expose in forthcoming years, especially as regards its shamanic healing implications. The lists refer mainly to titles with a wide international circulation especially in the English-speaking world. They also contain some updated references including the years from 1989 onwards. Each title in the list is preceded by the name of the director and followed by the year of production and in some cases its association to a Sector or Binary (in brackets). By clicking on the title you can get complete online details on the movie. If there are movies that proved meaningful for you or any shamanic experience concerning the realm of fiction that you wish to share, please contact me.

The Sensuality of the Void: Astroshamanic Touch and Astroshamanic Primal Embrace
Astroshamanism is indefinable, shapeless, beyond any word or rationalisation. It is not an intellectual pursuit or a certified curriculum, but something you can only discover through direct experience and exposure. Among the numerous applications of astroshamanic work, Astroshamanic Touch and Astroshamanic Primal Embrace are some of the most controversial and captivating. This is because they straightforwardly challenge the structure of our apparent physical reality, delving into its unseen matrix and retrieving the experiential awareness of the amazing realms that surround and penetrate us. Astroshamanic Touch is a unique way for understanding and working with the edges of HAC, moving through the boundaries of its autism and uncovering the links with the ecstatic nature of the web of life. It is an extraordinary multidimensional approach to spiritual healing bodywork, which Franco has intentionally woven from the wisdom of ancient traditions and more recent paths of liberation. The first complete course will take place in the mountains of Vogelsberg in the heart of Germany (60 km from Frankfurt) from 20 to 24 April 2007 with the title Multidimensional Portals of the Senses: A Gateway Course in Astroshamanic Healing Touch thanks to the organisation of Erik Mansson - emansson@hotmail.com +49 (0)69/95504794 or 0171-3493424 - and Valérie Saintot of Holistic Dialogue. If you intend to take a decisive action through your path of transformation, I recommend this event. The course is in English. If you are interested, please book at your earliest convenience through Erik.
Astroshamanic Touch and Primal Embrace utilise the dynamics of shamanic trance to create most energetic states of harmony in the body, soul and spirit. Through the sensitive and empowering use of ritual strokes, contacts and postures, operated in alignment with the earth rhythms and stellar firmament, this approach works on the multidimensional sexual body, reawakening the remembrance of our original nature and purpose. During the workshops or group sessions, the aim is to create opportunities for releasing individual and collective blocks, becoming a gateway for healing energies and directing them towards honourable intentions. Astroshamanic Touch works on the skeleton and bone structure, which is regarded as a crystal core multidimensional hardware for storing, distributing and redeploying information and energy. The third dimensional physical world is a mass of atomic material, which receives decisive animation from multidimensional substances dwelling far beyond our HAC field of observation. Whatever appears in HAC emanates from non-HAC energy fields, which Astroshamanic Touch aims at stimulating and bringing to our pragmatic human awareness. The task here is to align the human skeleton structure and all its outer layers (tissues, muscles, flesh, blood, organs, etc.) with our multidimensional self, bearing in mind that, as a result of this connection, our entire perception will drastically shift.
Our physical body is not a frozen structure hooked in a separated reality based on limited time and space. It is a dynamic vortex of energy, continually relating with a multidimensional field of energy. What we humanly perceive in HAC about our body is merely the product of belief systems based on separation and denial of our multidimensional nature. When you are open to release HAC boundaries, new and definitely much more exciting configurations emerge. Once these are consciously and pragmatically experienced, they can then be gradually integrated in HAC, healing our fragmented reality and reconnecting it to its original source.
During the course held in Vogelsberg in April we will discover ways of employing physical contact and sexual energy to foster expanded states of consciousness, retrieve soul parts, reawaken healing talents and integrate them in everyday life. We will explore the multidimensional sacred dynamics of shamanic sexuality, employing the body as a keyboard aimed at recovering and grounding planetary forces. The intent is to release blocks that hinder our potentials, celebrating the sacredness of our multidimensional body in alignment with the healing flow of energy. With deep trance body work, we will share ways of channelling profound passions, tranforming and merging them in accordance with one’s life purpose. All physical touch in this workshop is voluntary and optional, with no involvement of the genitals or other forms of sexual stimulation, and with boundaries set according to what is safe for each participant.
